The girls just finished a short season of soccer with our local Park and Rec. department. It was a good experience for them and it's always good to see them running.
Kristen's team had great exciting games. She even scored one goal! Don't you love the pink soccer socks?
Kailyn's team was in the training stages and played simple, low-key 20 minute games. But she did score a goal! For Kailyn the social interaction was the best part. She made lots of new friends. And what better place to keep in touch than on the soccer field!
They even had a "team" for the 4 year olds. They didn't play much but they sure were cute!
As far as I know the only thing Karissa came home with was a black eye... really, she did. I don't think she hates the game...yet.
They'll play again in the spring and there's rumor of a winter soccer team in the gym. Should be fun--Keith's planning on helping with coaching in the spring.

Nice action shot of Kristen playing! It all looks like fun. I really need to get on the ball (no pun intended) and figure out how to get into the soccer leagues around here. I think our kids would love it! I love the little uniforms and kick guards. They look like little professionals.
Of course, Owen insists that you shoot a ball into a soccer ball hoop. We still have a bit of training to do.
I'll take that as a compliment-- from someone who takes amazing pictures! Actually, I took the picture of Kristen playing and then had to zoom it in... a lot.
Waterloo has the ideal soccer program because it's cheap and they don't put high expectations or stress on the kids. We even have the choices of volleyball, football or swim team!
