It is that time of the year again where I make several (emphasize SEVERAL) attempts at our yearly family picture. I also try to take a few shots at . . . .oops, I mean of the kids for their scrapboxes (I highly doubt I'll ever get them in a book. At this point I think I am just handing them boxes full of pictures when they leave home. They can sort through them on their own. I have too many pictures! They say the best way to eat an elephant is one bite at a time, but the problem is that I can't stop feeding the elephant. He keeps growing!).
Anyway, back to the pictures. Here is a "few" of my favorites from our fall 2007 collection:
We've got Ryan and Tina taken care of . . . Kerry - your next!

Picture #3...Why are your kids always walking away from you?
They look great! And was it only two attempts this year. Not bad.
Oh, hey that was actually my comment. I finally got the correct information on how to post a comment. Now for pictures...still working on that.
Ruth
Yes, it only took 2 attempts. What I learned from the first one - don't try to do two shoots in one day. My kids were totally uncooperative by the time I got to them the first time because they were ready to go home. Trying to get 4 kids to smile at the same time is quite a challenge. Half of the pictures Ryan took the first time - Owen is picking his nose! Thank goodness for digital!
You sound so professional! ("...our fall 2007 collection")
Fantastic pictures. You have got to take this up as a paid hobby-- but only AFTER you've taken mine!
Kerry,
For now you can just send cheesecake!
Ruth,
My kids are walking away from me for numerous reasons - but mostly because they are sick of my camera. To them it is a torture device. I tell them to just get used to it - because it isn't going away! If anything happens to my camera, I know who to investigate first!
Hey, Tina, it's Michelle. I have just one question I have been meaning to ask you. Since you seem to be quite the excellent photographer, what kind of camera do you use or do you recommend? I am hoping to put "a new camera" on my Christmas wish list, but I have no idea where to begin. Let me know. By the way, your family pictures are great!
Hey, Michelle, Thanks for stopping by the blog. I e-mailed you once or twice before, but I'm not sure I had your e-mail address right. I love this "blog" way of keeping in touch.
About the camera . . . I shoot with a Nikon D50 with an extended lens. It is a digital (which I HIGHLY recommend) and I do love it (but then it is the only camera I have ever used).
To be truthful, I don't know much about cameras and which one to buy because Buff did all the research and bought me this one for my birthday. He just found a local camera store and went in and asked them to teach him. If you just want to shoot casual pictures of the kids they can help you wade through all the options. He intended then to shop around, but they gave him a good package deal at that store.
I am seeking to take classes on my own because I really don't know what I am doing. I just point, shoot and hope for the best. Having a good computer photo program (which came with my camera) helps cover a multitude of errors!
I don't know if this helps or causes more confusion . . .
